Monday 21st August
Okay okay okay I know I haven't posted for a while its been busy........no really just hard to find internet cafe in Novisad and Herceg Novi (Montenegro) where we are now.
Well what have we done spent lots of money mainly on food and drinks as it is not cheap here at all....
Tinka showed us the sights of Novi Sad the fortress and surrounding areas made us walk everywhere because, that, I am finding out is the european way walking and then sitting for hours on one drink in a cafe??? You would think no one works in Serbia...
It is finally hot we have hit summer but really hot like 40 degrees so this is good.
montenegro is great but their definition of a beach is cement or rocks no sand here the place is packed with europeans from all over no one speaks english glad tinka is with me. It summer holidays here but the end of the season would hate to see it in peak time its crazy...
Hired a car yesterday and drove along the coast was interesting driving on the wrong side of the car and road but I managed to not crash so this is good.
In Croatia today at Debrovnic it is only 2 hours from montenegro so we just caught the bus these cities are full of stairs and are like big fortress ' I will show photos when I find somewhere that will allow me to upload them.
We leave tomorrow for Belgrade then wednesday start the trip home.
We have worked out that in 20 days we would have been in 8 countries and used 5 currencies and come across about a million different languages
gotta go time running out will post again soon Hopefully!!!
bye

Tuesday 15th August
Well we have arrived in Novisad and all is well here, Met the rest of the family here and have spent hours explaining to the children how to use a Tamagotchi very thrilling stuff...
Train trip to Novisad was very slow but we made it eventually 6 hours. The train system is a little stressful they do not post the platform for the train until 5 minutes before you need to board so then there is a mad dash to reach the train and get all your bags on suppose it makes it more enjoyable once your on because your just glad you made it you made it!!
Budapest was nice on the last night we lushed it up and went to this traditional hungarian restaurant where they had folk dancing and fine dining a band that was a little operatic but good drank good wine so that was me satisfied.
Tinka has taken over here and has our itenery all booked up which is nice as do not have to think of anything anymore and it is very help full having someone that speaks the language with you.
We are in Novisad until Friday then we go into Belgrade to catch flight to Montenegro where we will stay until tuesday, we will probably hire a car there and drive into coratia to Debrovnic for the day as it is too expensive to stay there so I will try an tackle the driving on the wrong side of the car and street could be entertaining

Saturday 12th August
Budapest is very beautiful and after a long train trip we were glad to arrive...the train was reasonably comfortable been on better but also on worse the train station in prague was horrific for such a huge city you would have thought it to be much better than it was...the train station in Budapest was interesting we had to line up for an hour and a half to purchase our forward tickets to Novisad as these we could not buy before we left, lots of tourists at the train station as the car racing was on last weekend.
Budapest is a lot harder to get around in the bus/tram/metro seems a lot more complicated to figure out and after being fined in Prague we are very conscious of having the right tickets.
Hotel here or Penzion is really nice and we actually have a bathoom you can turn around in...most of the places we have stayed to date the bathrooms have been only slightly bigger than our loos at home if that puts it into context for you all!!!
We took on an open top bus city tour this morning this was the best way to see the city and monuments in the little time we have here, it was excellent but is raining here today so a little cold.
Wine is good, beer is excellent, food is much cheaper so this is good, tomorrow we are going to visit one of the medicinal bath springs then onto a night dinner/folk dancing tour should be fun.
Monday we are off to Novisad to see the family...will post again later bye for now

Thursday 10th August
So Prague is amazing and we are having a fabulous time here,
First day we visited St Wenceslas square (yes from the christmas carol) he is the patron st of prague it is a huge square in the city centre we also took in the Astronomical Clock which is amazing I have photos that I will upload as soon as I can.
Yesterday we went to Prague Castle where we visited St Vidus Cathedral, St Georges Baslilca, stood infront of the Golden Gates (I know think I was probably judged to go to hell) we climbed the Tower in St Vidus Cathedral that was interesting almost had a heart attack it is 300 steps directly up in small winding stairwell but we made it so all is good, view was amazing so worth it, legs are a bit sore today though!!!
Last night we went on a river dinner cruise along the Danube and saw Prague by night this was excellent we had a slight problem getting there though as we were pulled up by ticket officer getting onto the subway and as we were not told to validate our tickets he told us we had to pay a fine of approx 80 dollars we argued a bit asking if we could just go back up and validate them he got all nasty and would not allow this and almost called the police so we just payed him figured it was the easy way out in the long run.......all is well that ends well I suppose.
Amazing how many people here are out and about at night last night coming back to the hotel at 11pm the main square was packed with people a bit different than home on a wednesday night!!!!
Today we are off to walk across Charles Bridge and do some Crystal shopping and then tomorrow we move onto Budapest so I will post again from there probably Hope all is well at home and you are all being good.....Gary the beer here is fantastic you would be in heaven.....the glasses are massive.

Tuesday 8th August
Well hi everyone this is my first real installment as we arrived in Prague today Internet cafes were hard to find in Vienna.....
Vienna was nice but poured with rain pretty much the whole time we were there which was a bit sucky and hindered the photo taking.
Navigating the subway was hilarious as we are a little inept when it comes to all the different roots you can take but I can brag that we conquered the beast.
we took a city tour which was excellent and took us to see the following;
State Opera House along Ringstrasse (a big street 4km long),lots of old historical buildings such as MAK Museum of Fine Arts, Natural History Museum, into the cultural district the MuseumsQuartier, Hofburg, Parilment and City Hall and Burgtheatre (where mozart and strauss performed) then into Schonbrunn Palace (Maria Theresia's summer residence) where we took a tour through the magnificent rooms.
It was a great tour and on a day when it was pooring with rain really the only way to see the city.
Bling would love Vienna as it is Schnitzel heaven and they are fantastic, food was very expensive so not a place to go if you wanted to eat or drink on a budget.
Prague is okay we arrived via train today, got to say the train was more comfortable than the plane we are about to jump on a tram into the city centre to have a look around.
I cant upload photos yet but hopefully will be able to soon..
Until next time......
